CFP Deadline for the "Funding, Equity and Efficiency" the Conference on Higher Education

The University of Primorska, Faculty of Management Koper launches a call for papers for its conference on higher education on the topic of:

 "Funding, Equity and Efficiency"

Portorož, Slovenia (November 21-24, 2007)

Deadline: May 31, 2007

The main aim of the conference is to acquire an overview of the situation, trends, reforms (and their difficulties) and required changes in both parts of the system of funding higher education (funding of educational institutions, state financial support to students) in Europe, especially in ). The Conference will focus on Europe, with special attention to former socialist countries former socialist countries (and among them, to those in Southern and Eastern Europeof South-eastern Europe.

The following topics would be of special relevance to the Conference:

•  Funding: incentives for encouraging quality, models of tuition fees and other forms of revenue supplementation;


• Equity: provision of grants and loans to assure participation of all students of academic ability and to support cross-border student flows;


•  Efficiency: models of institutional and national (or system) reforms to enhance efficiency and productivity.

The conference working language is English and the fee amounts to 290€.
