Second Annual Conference on Empirical Legal Studies

The conference will feature original empirical and experimental legal scholarship by leading scholars worldwide, from a diverse range of fields.
The conference is jointly organized by Cornell Law School, NYU School of Law and the University of Texas School of Law. The organizers of this year’s conference are Jennifer Arlen (NYU), Bernard Black (Texas), Theodore Eisenberg (Cornell), Michael Heise (Cornell), and Geoffrey Miller (NYU).
This conference is the first event organized by the newly-created Society for Empirical Legal Studies (SELS).
We especially encourage submissions from junior scholars. Expected research fields are law, economics, political science, demographics, finance, psychology, sociology, etc.
The envisaged topics include:
