Two civil petitions have been published online protesting against the campaign aiming to denounce the historical project 'Batak as a Place of Memory'. The first one has been initiated by a group of professors and researchers at the Department of Theory and History of Culture at the Sofia University, and the second one - by historians who have carried out a round table on the topic on April 27 at CAS. The petitions stand for the freedom of scientific research and against the political construction and monopolisation of historical interpretations.
